SOLD Title: Nancy at Boma La Tumaini, Loitokitok, Kenya Size: 30x30	Women of Loitokitok, Kenya November, 2006, I viewed some photos of women living in Loitokitok, Kenya. The photos were taken by a young woman, Lisa Carlock, who was working in Kenya with the Peace Corps. Lisa is currently a graduate student at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
SOLD Title: Women of Loitokitok, Kenya Size: 24x30	With Ms. Carlock’s permission and a handful of photos I began painting. Loitokitok is located at the southern border of Kenya and the northernmost part of Kilimanjaro. Boma la Tumaini (House of Hope) is a community information resource center on HIV/AIDS. It was officially opened on December 1, 2004 (World AIDS Day). FriFAT (Friends Fighting AIDS Together) is a support group branch of Boma la Tumaini (note: women in my paintings belong to this support group).

Over 100 people come to Boma la Tumaini each month for testing. If they are positive, they are able to get anti-retroviral drugs through a private clinic. 50% of the sales from this series will be sent directly to these women of Loitokitok, Kenya. As of October 25, 2008... $732.00 has been donated to the women of Loitokitok, Kenya. Oct. 2007 Update on the FriFat women: The women have used the money that was sent to them to open a small hair salon!
